Students can enter the Honors Program in a number of ways. For example, entering freshman are eligible for admission with a high school GPA of 3.8 or an ACT of 27 or an equivalent SAT. A current student may enter with a 3.5 overall GPA in college courses and an ACT of 27 or an equivalent SAT. A student may enter with transfer credit for an equivalent of 3.5 overall GPA and an ACT of 27 or an equivalent SAT. A student otherwise ineligible may apply to the Education Honors Director for admission. Admission under this stipulation will be reserved for non-traditional students whose maturity and life experiences indicate merit.
Application will include evidence of satisfactory GPA, ACT, or equivalent SAT score, and a personal statement of educational philosophy. The admission’s process will include an interview with the COE Honors Committee.
