Why should I study to be a Park Ranger?

Outdoors. Recreation. Resources.

Do you enjoy the outdoors? Would you like others to share your love of the outdoors? As a park ranger, you can do just that. Through the Park and Recreation Management concentration in Sport and Leisure Management, you will be equipped with the knowledge, skills and abilities to work in the exciting field of park management. As a park ranger, you might be responsible for different aspects of the park including visitor services, resource management and stewardship, promotion of the resource, and a host of other exciting opportunities. Our natural resources are one of the most precious resources we have in America, and with the growing interest in outdoor recreation, the prospects for employment as a park ranger are promising. As a park ranger, your responsibilities are not only to the resource, but also to the recreator who chooses to utilize the resource. This exciting and dynamic field will allow you to satisfy your need to be outdoors while enabling others to experience your love of the outdoors.
