My name is Connie Rogers, known as "Ms Connie" at Child Study Center (CSC). I have been working with children and families almost continuously since 1970. I have been associated with the ETSU Center of Excellence in Early Childhood Learning and Development since 1993, first as a graduate assistant for the Tennessee Early Childhood Training Alliance (TECTA) and then for the Child Study Center before being hired as the first Assistant Director for the CSC. The challenges and opportunities for growth while working at the University have been exciting and rewarding.
During my tenure at CSC, I have been involved in the startup of a child care facility for our college students' children (Little Buccaneers Student Child Care Center); helped supervise the renovation of a new site for the CSC; helped coordinate "switching" locations for the CSC and Little Bucs; mentored child care centers in neighboring cities; acted as adjunct faculty in the Department of Human Development and Learning; and taught courses for TECTA.
Since our Center is a demonstration school, the facility is open to many visitors and our teachers are always interested in sharing knowledge with other early childhood professionals. For further information, call 423-439-4888/4887 to set up an appointment for a visit.
