Undergraduate Programs
The elementary grades teacher has a wide range of competencies and
develops a life-long passion for learning and for professional
growth. Students seeking licensure to teach in high schools, first
and foremost, become thoroughly proficient in the subject area they
have chosen for specialization. Because appreciation of the arts
and language is fostered among children, licensure for related
subjects is available for K-12.
Undergraduate programs in the Department of Curriculum and
Instruction allow students to seek licensure in elementary,
secondary, and K-12 tracks. Other licensure programs available to
undergraduates include a 5-12 Technology Engineering licensure, and
two 9-12 licensure tracks in Psychology and Sociology. Once
admitted to Teacher Education, students are assigned
Curriculum and Instruction advisors to guide them through their
professional studies. Secondary licensure students will be have an
advisor in both CUAI and their designated major.
