Michele R. Moser, Ph.D.


Clinical Psychologist

Michele Moser, Ph.D., brings 18 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and families to her position as a clinical psychologist with the East Tennessee State University Center of Excellence for Children in State Custody.  Dr. Moser came to the Tri-Cities from Tiffin , Ohio, with her family as her husband, Dr. Wallace Dixon, became the new chair of the Department of Psychology at ETSU in 2002.  Before leaving Ohio, she worked in private practice in a rural area seeing children, adolescents, adults, and families.  She also was a consulting supervisor with a Christian counseling center.

A summa cum laude graduate of Augustana College, Dr. Moser received her M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in clinical psychology from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.  Her doctoral dissertation was on mothers' and fathers' causal attributions for child behavioral problems.  She is a member of the American Psychological Association, the Tennessee Psychological Association, and the InterMountain Psychological Association.

Dr. Moser became director of the Center of Excellence for Children in State Custody in January of 2006 upon the resignation of Dr. Andres Pumariega.  She was highly recommended for the position by the departing director, Dr. Pumariega.
