Assistant/Associate Professor

The Early Childhood
Education program in the Department of Human Development and
Learning at East Tennessee State University invites applications for
the position of Assistant/Associate Professor. This is a 9-month,
tenure-track position to begin August 2007.
Minimum qualifications
include:
(1) a doctoral degree in Early Childhood Education, Child
Development, or related field (will consider ABD completed within
one calendar year of hire);
(2) experience with young children in
classroom and/or professional settings (birth through 4th
grade); and
(3) potential for research and scholarly activities
related to the field of Early Childhood Education. Experience
teaching and advising undergraduate and/or graduate students is
preferred. Desired qualifications include: thesis and/or
dissertation supervision, and strong statistic and research
background.
Position responsibilities include:
(1) undergraduate and
graduate teaching in Early Childhood Education and Child
Development;
(2) program/course development;
(3) undergraduate and
graduate advisement, mentoring and recruitment; and
(4) research
and/or scholarly activity. Salary and rank commensurate with
qualifications and experience.

candidates who demonstrate knowledge of diversity, skills in
