OVERVIEW
Are you seeking an advanced degree? Do you have a passion for the business of sport?
The ETSU graduate Sport Management Concentration provides students with the opportunity to critically examine a wide variety of sport industry-related themes and issues. Our program emphasizes both academic preparation along with required real-world practical field experiences.
The curriculum examines three main segments of the sport industry (performance, production, promotion), and it encompasses all levels of sport: youth, high school, collegiate, professional, amateur, competitive, non-competitive, recreational, private, and nonprofit/profit organizations.
Although the number of potential careers within athletics is virtually limitless, here are just a few examples:
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Regular Admission:
Each of the following items are required for admission into the graduate-level Sport Management Program. The review committee considers everything equally, so being particular strong in one area could definitely help you gain admission despite a weakness in one or more of the other categories.
Conditional Admission:
Students who are unable to meet “regular admission” requirements, may apply for conditional admission.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
Various forms of financial assistance are available through the Office of Financial Aid. In addition, Graduate Assistantships and Tuition Scholarships are available in the Department of Kinesiology, Sport and Recreation Management (KSRM) that include teaching in the Active Lifestyles and Wellness Program or Fit Kids program, research assistants with KSRM Faculty, and various other duties. Other opportunities may be available in campus recreation, intercollegiate athletics, student activities, and other campus areas. Please contact the KSRM main office (423-439-4362) to obtain more information or to receive application materials for Graduate Assistantship and Tuition Scholarship positions.
