The School Counseling option offers individuals the opportunity to fulfill the requirements specified by the Tennessee State Department of Education for licensure as a Pre K thru 12 school counselor. The Marriage and Family Therapy option is designed to prepare students to work with individuals, couples and families in such settings as human service agencies, mental health centers, psychiatric hospitals, counseling agencies, and private practice. The higher education concentration is designed to prepare counselors and administrative professionals for service to students in community and four-year colleges and universities. The community agency counseling program option is designed to prepare students for counseling in agencies such as community mental health centers, private practice, drug and alcohol abuse centers, correctional facilities, and hospice services.
