Storytelling Concerts and Workshops

Recent ETSU Storytelling concerts have included Elizabeth
Ellis, David Novak, Carol Birch, Milbre Birch, Dovie
Thomason, Hiroko Fujita and Fran Stallings, Jay
O�Callahan, Willy Claflin, Odds Bodkin, Eddie
Lenihan, and many others.
ETSU TaleTellers
The student storytelling troupe tours regionally each
semester, bringing high quality storytelling to area
schools, festivals, and community organizations.
Storytelling in Higher Education
ETSU Storytelling is a proud sponsor of the
Storytelling in Higher Education (SHE)
Special Interest Group of the National Storytelling
Network, and an editorial home of Storytelling, Self,
Society: An Interdisciplinary Journal of Storytelling
Studies.
The National Storytelling Festival Experience
The NSF in nearby Jonesborough, Tennessee, is the oldest
and largest showcase for contemporary storytelling in the
U.S. ETSU Storytelling students serve as behind-the-scenes
interns for the festival, as well as for the National
Storytelling Network, the principal professional
storytelling membership organization, also headquartered in
Jonesborough.
Storytelling Library
Sherrod Library is a full-service library with over 40,000
stories and great storytelling resources. In addition, the
Storytelling Program has extensive holdings of contemporary
storytelling tapes, books, and CDs.
