University School Elementary & Middle School Cross Country

Cross Country Victory! A big congratulations to both our Boys and Girls Middle School Cross Country teams who competed in the regional meet on Saturday October 12th. The boys team walked away with a fourth place finish with Jeb Jones placing 2nd overall and Pablo Rivas finishing 13th. The remaining boys demonstrated pack running at its finest to help the Junior Bucs advance to state. The girls team was lead by Cora Allison who placed 7th overall and Bekah Owen followed by Breanna Fee, Ashley Daniels, Camilla Rivas, and Calli Newberry. All the Junior Buc Ladies had a strong day to get the team to a fifth place finish which allowed the team to advance to state. Both teams will compete in Knoxville for the State Meet on Saturday, October 19th. Congrats to both teams on a job well done!
Hagan Stone Classic
Congratulations to our Cross Country teams who competed in the Hagan Stone Cross Country Meet in North Carolina. Middle School Boys Team came in 3rd, Jeb Jones came in 7th, Pablo Rivas came in 13th overall, and Cora Allison came in 7th overall for Girls. Way to go, Bucs!!!

Congratulations to both Middle School and High School Cross Country teams. The High School boys finished 1st in the Run fer da Hills meet last Saturday. Levi Carter was our first finisher in 5th place. Noah Jones and Zach Branham were in the top 15. Olivia Augsburger was the top finisher for the girls in 24th place.
Middle School boys also took 1st place at the same meet. Jeb Jones finished 2nd overall with Pablo Rivas and Cooper Pack finishing in the top 10. Cora Allison was our top girl in 9th place overall. The girls finished 7th. Good job!
Congratulations to the University Middle School Cross Country runners who had a strong showing on Thursday during the Redskin Rally Invitational. A record number of runners participated with 699 among the field. The JV boys were lead by Lewis and Collin with Nelson, Kalin and Tuck rounding out the team. The varsity middle school girls were lead by Cora Allison who finished 10th with Bekah Owen and the rest of the team close in tow. The middle school boys finished 1st as a team with Jeb Jones placing 2nd and Pablo Cooper, Will Owen, Caleb Strickler and Nick executing pack running to bring home the win for the Junior Bucs. Congratulations to all the runners for an amazing race. The next race will be Tuesday September 10th, at Sycamore Shoals Invitational beginning at 5pm
Congratulations to the Middle School Cross Country Boys and Girls teams who had a STRONG showing at the Overmountain Run which was run at Sycamore Shoals. The boys walked away with a second place finish and were lead by Jeb Jones who placed first in the meet, Pablo Rivas who placed 9th, and Cooper Pack who came in 12th. The top 6 were rounded out by Caleb Strickler, Alex Lemery and Nick Pohlgeers. Congratulations to all the boys who ran hard to lead the Junior Bucs to a strong showing!
The girls had a strong meet finishing in 6th place overall and were lead by Cora Allison who placed 6th overall in the meet as well as Bekah Owen and Bekah Rice who came in the top three for the bucs. Ashley Daniel, Courtney Henley and Calli Newberry also had strong finishes rounding out the top 6 for the bucs. Congratulations to all the ladies for a job well done!
The boys and girls will race on September 19th, in Kingsport, at Warrior Invitational. Come out and support the Junior Bucs!

Please note that due to the TSSAA Policy on Outdoor Sports Practice during times of extreme heat, Cross Country practice may be cancelled by the coach or Athletic Director. Please remind athletes to bring a water bottle and to drink plenty of water at school and at home!
Runners - please note that you MUST have a physical and turn in your Emergency Treatment Form ASAP. You cannot participate in a meet until these forms are returned.
Directions to University School Cross Country Meets
Weyerhaeuser Park (The old Heritage Park) (1st Annual Redskin Rally)
Take Exit 51 (Wilcox Drive)
Go straight at bottom of exit ramp
Continue on Wilcox Drive for 2 miles (you will pass a BP gas station on your left)
Get in the right lane
As soon as you cross a bridge, turn right onto Jared Drive and take immediate right onto Riverport Road
Go 2 miles, complex is on the right
Holston Dam (Run for the Hills Meet)
Take Bristol Highway. Just before Bristol Speedway take right onto 394. Go straight through red light. Stay on 394 (5/6 miles) to second red light. Take right onto 421. Follow signs to Holston Dam.
David Crockett High School (Santo Cicirello Meet)
Take West Market Street out of town towards Jonesborough. West Market Street becomes Jackson Blvd (2.1 mile). Turn left onto N Washington Drive (0.2 mile). Turn right onto W Main St. (0.8 mile). Continue on Old TN-34 (2.0 mile). David Crockett will be on your right.
Daniel Boone High School (Region and Trailblazer)
Take I-181 N to Exit 42. Turn left. The school is a couple miles ahead on the left.
Winged Deer Park
Take Bristol Highway and Winged Deer Park will be on the left. Take Carroll Creek Road until the boat dock. The race is to the right of the boat dock and pavilion.
Steele Creek, Bristol (Bristol Cross Meet)
Take Bristol Highway to State Street (in Bristol). Turn left on State Street. Stay on State Street bearing left in front of the Walmart. Go past the K-Mart. Turn left at Taco Bell and CVS. Turn left on 126. Steele Creek Park is one mile ahead.
Warriors Path State Park
Take 1-181 towards Kingsport and take Rock Springs Road exit. After you exit turn right onto Moreland Drive. You will pass Sullivan South High School on your left. Continue on road, crossing straight through red light on Ft. Henry Drive and follow road until you reach park. Follow signs.
Turn into the Veterans Administration (VA) from State of Franklin (across from the Mini-Dome at ETSU)
Victor Ashe Park, Knoxville
From downtown Knoxville, take Western Avenue headed west; after approximately four miles, turn right onto Pleasant Ridge Road; go approximately three miles (before Northwest Middle School) and turn left onto Bradshaw Road; park is on immediate right.
Hagan Stone, Greensboro, NC
From I-40 E towards Greensboro merge onto US-220 S via Exit 218A toward US-220 S/Asheboro/I-85-BR S. Merge onto I-85 N via Exit 78. Take the US-421, exit on Exit 126 toward Sanford. Merge onto US-421 S/Joseph M Hunt Jr Expy via Exit 126A toward Sanford. Turn right onto Hagan-Stone Park Road.
