  • Boys & Girls Club Summer 2015 Registration:  Boys & Girls Club of Johnson City/Washington County is now accepting registrations for summer programming.  Registration and payment is required by May 11th.  The program runs June 1st to July 31st.  See Informational Flyer for more information



  • T-Ball & Soccer Programs:  Registration is now open for the Boys and Girls Club of Johnson City/Washington County T-Ball & Soccer Programs.  Registration dates:  NOW through March 9th.  See Flyer for more information



  • Joggin' For The Noggin' 5K Run/Walk:  There will be a 5k Run/Walk to raise money for the Crumley House on Saturday, March 7th, at 10:00 a.m.  The Crumley House is a rehabilitation center to help ease the burden and provide services to both children and adults who fall victim to traumatic brain injury.  It is located at 300 Urbana Road, Limestone, TN 37681.  See More Information



  • Trauma Services is hosting a Sports Injury Prevention Seminar on Saturday, February 7th, from 8:30 am-1:30 pm, at Bristol Regional.  This seminar is free to coaches, athletes, parents, and community members.  Several Physicians (Orthopedist, Neurosurgeon, ER Physician, and General Surgeon) have volunteered their time to speak about how to keep athletes healthy and injury free.  See Informational Flyer

  • Children's Poetry Contest:  Theme:  "A Smell that Brings Back Happy Memories";  The Washington County Public Library is hosting their 3rd annual Children's Poetry Contest.  The contest is open to students in Kindergarten through 5th grade.  Entries will be accepted at the Jonesborough or Gray Branch libraries from January 20th through February 6th.  See Informational Flyer



  • Group Swim Lessons:  Water Babies and Group Swim Lessons will be offered at the ETSU Basler Center for Physical Activity.  Registration is accepted through February 1st.  See Informational Flyer or view ETSU Campus Recreation Website for more information

     

  • Parking Lot 28 Closed on Friday:  Lot 28 (between Gilbreath Hall and Dossett Hall) will be closed on Friday, January 30th, to reserve parking for community guests attending the State of the University Address which begins at 3:00 p.m.


  • Driver's Education possibly offered during Spring Break:  Driver Training, Inc.  is interested in offering a class for University School students during our Spring Break, during the week of March 9th - 13th. Students would attend class from 9:00-noon. The afternoon would be individual driving time. These times will be arranged on the first day of class. The cost is $350. For the class to make, they need a minimum of 10 people. If anyone is interested, they need to call the office and let us know. We'll keep a list of students who are interested and we'll call them to confirm that the class made or is cancelled due to not enough people signing up.  See Driver Training, Inc.   • Bucs Live University Experience:  East Tennessee State University is excited to announce a new college immersion weekend experience for high school seniors interested in pursuing a pre-health degree program. BLUE (Bucs Live University Experience) Weekend will introduce these students to the many health degree programs offered at ETSU while also providing them an opportunity to experience "life on campus."  The event will take place during our Spring Break, March 27th -28th.  Please see Ms. Shaw if you would like to be nominated for this event



  • Testing Calendar:  A "tentative" Spring Testing Calendar has been posted.  Juniors, please note that there are some mandatory tests that you must take, even if you are a dual enrollment student.  If anyone has any questions, please see Ms. Shaw

  • K-6 Field Trip to see ETSU Lady Bucs!  Our K-6th grade classes have been invited to join the ETSU Women's Basketball Team for Education Day on February 2nd, from 10:30 – 1:00. We will watch the Lady Bucs play a game against Chattanooga and learn about college athletics. Students need to bring a brown-bag lunch to enjoy at the game.  It promises to be a fun and exciting day!   We would love to have parents join us if you are able. The student tickets are free of charge, but parents will need to buy a $5 ticket at the door to get in.  Go, ETSU Lady Bucs!



  • Pancakes!!!!  Our University School Key Club will be co-sponsoring a Pancake Breakfast with the Johnson City Kiwanis Club on Saturday, January 31st, from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m., at the Memorial Park Community Center, 510 Bert Street, Johnson City.  Tickets are $7 per pserson.  Come and join us for a yummy Saturday morning breakfast!!!!  Informational Flyer




  • Pink Night:  We will be having a "Pink" Night for the basketball teams on Tuesday, February 3rd at Brooks Gym



  • Blood Drive:  There will be a Blood Drive at University School on Thursday, February 12th, from 11:45 - 4:15.  Appointments can be set at redcrossblood.org or call Ms. Cradic at (423) 439-4361.  See Informational Flyer for more information.    Minors will need a completed Parental Consent for Blood Donation .  Red Cross Gift for all students who recruit a donor!  5,600 times a day someone receives a unit of Red Cross blood.  Will you donate 1 of them? 



  • Teens for Jeans:  Do you have new or gently used jeans that you don't wear?  Bring them in and put them in the bin by the office and donate to Teens for JeansLast day for Jeans Drive is Friday, February 13th



  • Re-enrollment Forms due February 27th:  Students, are you planning to continue enrollment at University School?  If so, please complete the re-enrollment form , sign, and return it with the nonrefundable $75 material fee (per student) to at University School by 4:00pm, Friday, February 27, 2015.  If you do not respond by February 27, we will assume you will not be returning for the 2015-2016 school year, and your opening will be filled at the time of the drawing
