Title: Environmental Awareness
Action
Research
University School
Action Research: The primary focus of this
action research plan is to investigate recycling habits of students at
home and at school, to improve recycling habits of students at home and
at school, to educate students on environmental awareness, and to impact
our environmental impact as a school.
Action Research Goals: Increase recycling
habits at home and at school.
Question: Are recycling habits at home and
at school increased after students attend exploratory classes focused on
environmental education?
Subjects: Second Grade Class & K-2
Composting Exploratory Class
Procedures: Students will be given a
recycling pre-survey. The survey finds out their recycling practices
both at home and at school. The survey also asks students the things
they do to help take care of our Earth. I will then educate students on
environmental issues throughout the year in second grade. I will also
educate students in my K-2 composting exploratory. I will give the same
survey at the end of the year to find out if environmental education has
impacted students’ recycling efforts both at home and at school.
