Creative Writing syllabus

Purpose:
This semester course is designed to help each student find or refine
his/her unique writing voice. This class is also a publication class,
publishing an art and poetry anthology in print or on my U.S. web site.
Poetry, drama, and short stories will be included in the curriculum.

requirements:
A three
ring notebook for C.W.
Homework
A poetry
presentation
One typed
piece, chosen by the student, due every Friday, beginning
July 17th
The weekly
typed piece
All
English department and school policies will be followed
Grades:
Almost all
grades will be assessed equally. Grades that are doubled will be
announced. Students are to keep their assignment sheet current. On that
sheet, there is a column for grades; therefore, averages can be
calculated at any time during the quarter.
Assignments written in pencil can be redone in ink and turned in for
late credit the following day. This also applies for
assignments that are to be typed.
