Experiences:
July 2007-Present:
Teacher
in AP Chemistry, Chemistry and Physics at University High
School, ETSU.
My lectures
are all posted on power points. The address is
https://elearn.etsu.edu/.
I have been conducting labs
in AP Chemistry, Chemistry and Physics which also enhances
student learning. They are also assessed by taking tests,
submitting projects and conducting labs.
Aug 2006-July 2007
Adjunct Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry,
ETSU
Aug 2004-July 2006
Teacher Assistant at Woodland Elementary School,
Johnson City.
July 2004- July 2006
(when Woodland School was not in Session)
Substitute
teacher
in University
school, ETSU, Johnson City and Johnson City
Schools.
August 2003-April 2004
‘Research Assistant II’,
Department of Pharmacology, J. H. Q. School of Medicine, ETSU,
Johnson city, TN. Working on investigating the role of
Nitrous oxide in suppression of C-reactive protein.
Sept 2001- June 2003
‘Research
Assistant I’,
Department of
Biochemistry, J. Q. School of Medicine, ETSU, Johnson city,
TN. Worked on human DNA excision repair proteins, their
cloning and expression in various vectors using E.coli
as a host. The work involves, plasmid amplification,
isolation, phage amplification, PCR, Site directed
mutagenesis, gene cloning and expression in different
vectors. I am also trained for the use of radioisotopes. I
have successfully cloned & isolated one of the human protein
by the chitin column method which is needed for DNA excision
repair. I am also experienced in handling and maintenance of
insect cell cultures such as SF9 and SF21. Expressing human
proteins in insect cells and performing plaque assays using
insect cell culture.
July 2000- July 2001
‘Research
Technician’, Department of Biochemistry and Molecular
Biology, University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center,
Oklahoma city.
Worked on
Molecular mechanism of DNA replication and Repair.
Successfully cloned about 30 yeast genes expressing
Replication Protein A and also expressed in E.coli
cells.
July 1992-Jan 1995:
‘Teacher’
in Convent school.
Taught
Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology.
Jan 1991- April 1992
‘Teaching
Assistant’ in undergraduate Chemistry Laboratory,
V.P. Science College. Vallabhvidyanagar, INDIA.
