First I entered the classroom and saw the Roving Reporter sheet on my desk, so I knew that I didn’t have to do BFYB (BREAKFAST FOR YOUR BRAIN).
Mrs. Goehring wasn’t here today, so our substitute was Mrs. Stafford. Victoria, Kacey, and I helped Macey and Ari (fourth graders) do the flag. For our greeting, we did a ball greeting. We also did a group share of what we did over the weekend with our families. I shared that I had my birthday party. We didn’t read our Roving Report since Mrs. Goehring wasn’t here.
Next was Gym class. We played Ultimate Capture the Flag. I was on a team with Ben, Molly, Bailey and Sydney.
Next was Math. We did Multiplication. Easy! Then we took notes on Math. We talked about factors. Example: 20 x 80 = 1600 where 20 is a factor, 80 is a factor, and 1600 is a product.
Next was lunch. I sat with Vicki, Hannah, Bailey, and Casey.
Then we did Geography. We watched a little movie about Geography. It was 11 minutes long. We worked with words like globe, latitude, longitude, maps, map tool, scale, and legend. Then we did an introduction to a paper called “Atlas Paper”. I hope I do great!!
Next was Music. We watched a clip and talked about sounds.
Next was my favorite part of the day. RECESS! I played soccer. I also interviewed some people and here’s what they had to say:
ME: What is your favorite class?
Hannah: Gym.
ME: What is your favorite thing about 5th grade?
Vicki: Recess.
ME: What is your favorite subject?
Marlee: Umm…..I would have to say history/social studies.
ME: Do you like the new 4th grade teacher?
Macey/Ari (4th graders): She’s awesome.
ME: What would you change about 5th grade?
Kacey: I wouldn’t change a thing. I love it!
Next we had a pre-test about the moon. It was not graded. We were just doing
it to see how much we knew before and after the lesson to see how much we
learned. Then we read and answered questions about a story called “One Small
Step”. It was about Apollo 11.

Then it was time to go home. It was a great day! Bye.
