Reported by Harper

I went to class at 8:00 and everybody in my class did BFYB (breakfast for your brain). Then we had a fire drill--exciting! Then we had morning meeting at our desks. That is when discuss the day’s activities.

After that, we had gym. We played Slap Ball. It’s the closest we can get to dodge ball. Then we did math. We’re doing decimals. It’s pretty tricky, but fun. Then we had lunch. I had a hamburger and corn.

We’re doing a unit on immigrants, so we studied the Statue of Liberty, which is very interesting. Next we went to the library where we studied the history of libraries. Then we had… OUT SIDE TIME!!! I played on the tire swing with my friends Annie, Chandler, Chloe, Olivia and Jade.

After that I interviewed our new principal Dr. Foley. Here’s the interview.

“How do you like being here?” I asked.

“Yes,” she said, “I love it here. Everything is very organized and I like everybody.”

“What is your least favorite thing here?” I asked.

“The stairs. And there’s not enough space,” she answered.

“How do you think the pick-up and drop-off could be better?”  I asked.

“Well, if everybody follows the procedures and it can be safe and quick, it’s good.”

“Do you have any 5th grade memories?” I asked.

“When I was in 5th Grade I wanted to be a rock star!” she exclaimed.

“Do you have hobbies?” I asked.

“I love to read and go kayaking,” she said.

I asked, “Do you like to travel?”

“I like to travel to any place that has water like the beach or lakes,” she answered.

I asked, “Do you like any sports?”

“I don’t play any but I like to watch softball, baseball, basketball, soccer, and pro football.”
