Good morning my fine fifth graders in Tennessee,
I know that you are helping our guest teacher and I hope that you are all being kind and respectful! I really miss you all! When I return, I will have many new greetings, ideas for sharing, and some new activities for us to try. They will be a lot of fun!

Our nation's capital.

Riding on the metro to Washington, D.C.

Entering the museum. People from all over the world visiting the Smithsonian museums.
Today, we explored the old town of Alexandria, Virginia. We saw a restaurant where George Washington ate. We toured an old torpedo factory. Now, instead of making torpedoes, there are many artists that work in the building. Have a great day and I'll write tomorrow. Everyone is remembering to email their roving reports. That is wonderful! Thank you ,Sydney, for your timely report! :-)

It all started when I walk in the classroom. I put my back pack away and
I sat down! First, we started (BFYB) Breakfast for your brain. Then the bell rang and announcements came on. We had morning meeting. Kacey was the morning director, she chose to do a high five greeting.
Next, we went to gym. In gym we played capture the flag. Then we did a cut and paste activity. At lunch I sat with Katie, Sterling, Jade, David, Sutton, and Harper.
After lunch we had math (boring) we did decimals. Next, we had music. Finally, it is time for recess “yay” I played soccer with Alex, Lexi, Ben, Rico, Molly, Maddi, Chandler and Annie. We came back in and did science “NO”.
Then we watch a movie about the seven continents. I can name them all here it goes North America, South America, Asia, Europe, Africa, Australia, and Antarctic.
I interviewed lots of people to see what they had to say
Me: “What do you like about this school?”
Molly:” I like this school because of the nice teachers.”
Me: “What do you think we can change about this school?”
Molly: “To recycle more and become a true green-school.”
Me: “What do you like about fifth grade?
Chandler: “Our teacher and being on the second floor.
Me: “What is your favorite subject?
Hannah: “Spelling.”
Me: “Do you miss Mrs. Goehring?”
Lexi: “Yes!”
Finally, the day has ended and it was another wonderful day in 5th grade!
