Marlee Berry here! The ROVING REPORTER! Reporting July 16, 2008! Mood in the class room: happy, tired, and a 70% chance of homework overload!!! Now, sit back, relax and don’t fall asleep and enjoy: MARLEE’S ROVING REPORT!
Now, early this morning I got up and enjoyed a delightful bowl of REESES CUP CEREAL. I got my bag and got in the car, and my dad drove me to school. BBRRRRRRIIIIIINNNNGGGGG! The bell rang and all the kids scurried to their classrooms! When all the anxious 5th graders got to their class, we all did Breakfast for the Brain: We did pg. 4, all about Jesse Owens, an Olympic Champion in Germany.
Then we all gathered around the circle and had morning meeting. Jacob was our director. He chose the handshake greeting. OH! And today was joke day for sharing. Harper shared a couple of jokes and Katie shared one, too. Then we read from the HINKY PINKY book. What’s a hinky pinky for a bad breakfast???????? An AWFUL WAFFLE!!!!!
Then we went to P.E. and played Bump Tag, and did a few lunges. Everyone agreed that Bump Tag was more fun! In math we did pg. 14 warm up! It was pretty dang easy! And there were some pretty big numbers! In lunch, I sat with Jacob, Katie, and Olivia. We talked all about movies! I had a corndog and some chocolate milk. YUM!
After lunch, we finished our math work which was HARD but EASY at the same time! Then we talked all about immigration and the Statue of Liberty! We learned a lot of cool facts about her! Did you know that she has a broken shackle in front of her foot which symbolizes freedom?!
In music, Ms. Allison (who is our new music teacher) brought her guitar and we sang some songs. It was sort of fun! Then, during OUTSIDE, I interviewed some students! And here is what I got:
Marlee: So Wren, what do you think your good at?
K-Kid Wren stated: Science, no, um,yeah!
Marlee: Jacob, do you find it hard to believe we’re almost in middle school?
5th grader Jacob answered: Yes I do, it will make us feel more grown up! Ya know?!
Marlee: What do you think your goals are for school?
5th grader Katie said: Well, straight A’s, they make you feel good about yourself!
Marlee: So, what do you like about 5th grade?
5th grader Chandler says: Well, Mrs.Goehring is nice, she makes school really fun! OH! And being on the second floor!
Marlee: So Harper, what do you think is your favorite subject?
5th grader Harper stated: History, it makes you think
Marlee: So, what do you see in your future?
5th grader Annie answers: A pediatrician! I totally love kids!
In science, we studied the solar system.

Guess what!? The sun is 15,000,000,000 years old!!!! That’s a really big number!
Well, then the wonderful day of 5th grade ended! This has been a Tranzweeme report! See you next time
Bye!
