Reported by Katie

Hello this is Katie’s roving report, so sit back and relax! So I walked into the class room put my books on my desk and put my backpack in the locker room. Then I walked back to my desk and looked for the roving reporter note, but it wasn’t there so I asked Mrs.Goehring and she said to go get it out the folder. Then my group (miercoles) spun for our jobs. I got Wanda so that means that I’m morning meeting director. After that we had morning meeting, sadly we had to do it at our desks I was going to pick “Honey do you love me?” but it had to be quick so I picked a high five greeting. Next was gym, we did bowling. Now time for MATH!!! We did a division page with 50 facts, it was pretty easy. Then we got out our math text books and math journals. We did estimating quotients. Ah finally LUNCH. I had meat ball sub, corn, and milk. I sat with Alexis and Macy (A 4th grader). Next we went outside with the college kids to do some experiments. I was in a group with Jacob and Chloe and two of the college kids. In the middle of our experiment, I interviewed Dr. Peale and this is what she had to say:

Me “Have you ever worked at a school before as a director?”

Dr. P “Yes, I have been an assistant director and a director.”

Me “Why do you want to become the director of University School?”

Dr. P “I love being with kids and teachers, I think it is cool to have a school connected to a University.”

Me “How much patience do you think you have?”

Dr. P “I have a lot of patience with kids because I think they are funny and smart and I love the way teachers think.

Me “Are you a people person?”

Dr. P “Yes, as a director, I want to be in classrooms with kids and teachers.”

Me “Do you play any sports?”

Dr. P “Yes, my favorite sport is basketball.”

Me “Have you been around kids a lot in your life?”

Dr. P “Yes, I have been a teacher for almost twenty years.”

Me “What is your favorite grade to teach?”

Dr. P “Fifth and eighth, I love middle school.”

Afterwards, we came back inside to make license plates about the states. Next was music, we did recorders. After music, Bailey passed out Hershey kisses, everyone got three. Ah yes, outside time! When we came back inside, we went to the computer lab. Well, it’s been another great day in fifth grade!
