Dear Parents, 

 Welcome to our fifth grade website. I am a firm believer that strong parent-teacher communication is essential in order to maximize student learning.  With that in mind, it is my hope that this website will help you communicate with me.  In addition to having the option of calling me at school or sending a note with your child, I can also be reached via e-mail.  If you ever have a question, concern, or something you would like to share with me, please feel free to e-mail me.  I check my e-mail multiple times each day (and on weekends) and make it a priority to be prompt in responding to messages. 

 In addition to providing another method of communication, another one of my goals is that this website will keep you up-to-date on what we are learning in the classroom.  Each week, the students' spelling and vocabulary words will be posted, and a listing of daily homework assignments can be found on the Homework page.  If you want a more detailed look at what we have been learning in the classroom, you can visit The Daily Log, a page filled with student-written articles on what's taking place in fifth grade.
