HOMEWORK POLICY

Students will receive homework every night, but Fridays (unless a project is due or a test is scheduled for Monday). A typical night of homework will include an assignment in Spelling, Math, and one other subject. Additionally, I ask that students read up to 15 minutes per night. What they read is entirely up to them. The goal is to get students reading. The more they enjoy what they are reading, the more they will read. |

Daily homework is due the day after it is assigned (unless otherwise specified). Homework can be turned in one day late for a reduced grade. After that, it will not be accepted. Of course, students absent due to illness will be given the necessary time to make up missed assignments. |

All work must contain the correct formatting or heading. The student's name is written in the first space on the left. Under the student's name the date is written. The title of the assignment goes in the middle on the first line of the paper (For example, Social Studies pg. 125 #'s 1-7). |

All students are required to keep a daily planner. The students will all receive a new planner, compliments of the University School. They are to write their daily assignments, listed on the white board, in their planner and take their planner home daily. Every Thursday, parents will need to sign the planner. On Friday, the students turn in their daily planner to be checked for accuracy. They receive a weekly grade for their planners. This is my way of trying to promote independence and responsibility. |

All daily assignments will be posted on our website. Please check the assignments on a regular basis, particularly if you are absent or forgot to write your assignments in your daily planner. |
