The Battle of Gettysburg

Introduction

   

                                                       

    One afternoon on July 1, 1863 an unplanned battle occurred between two generals. General Robert E. Lee of Northern Virginia and General George G. Meade, who led the Union Army Of The Potomac met. They met when a Confederate brigade sent forward supplies and they observed a forward column of Meade's cavalry. This battle was one of the most bloody and one of the most significant battles during the Civil War.

Through this web quest you will research and Learn some background information on the Civil War and become an expert on the battle of Gettysburg. You will search through this web quest and read the sites on the The Battle of Gettysburg to write a speech on The Battle of Gettysburg.

 You Will:

You will be required to become an expert on the Gettysburg an see the way the war looked from Abraham Lincolns point of the war. You will then right your own speech as if you were the president after the Battle of Gettysburg. The Gettysburg Address was Lincolns now right your own.

  4. Pretend you are the president during the civil war after the Battle of Gettysburg. Write a speech on your point of view after the battle like Abraham Lincoln.

 

The Battle of Gettysburg started July 1, 1836 and ended July 3, 1863. Robert E. Lee took his troops to Gettysburg for supplies. He was unaware
