The Wilson Reading Program is used for the younger grades and when appropriate with older students.

“The Wilson Reading System directly and systematically teaches students how to fluently and accurately decode. It is unlike traditional phonics programs in that instruction is very interactive and multisensory. It also thoroughly teaches, “total word construction,” not just phonics. In addition to using the Wilson System, grade level material is used to teach decoding skills, vocabulary, and comprehension. Using the material that the students use in their classroom helps them be more successful with the material. They also gain important grade-level concepts that help them to proceed through the curriculum.
