Action Research

Action Research: Improving reading comprehension of mathematics            textbooks.

Goal: My goal is to encourage students to use their textbook as a resource for solving problems.  This Action Research project is a continuation of the work I did last year with these students in Geometry.

Question: Will reading comprehension of mathematics textbooks improve if students are taught how to use their textbook as a resource?

Subjects: Algebra II students

Procedure:

    -Quarterly activities that require students to access their textbooks for

     information to solve problems.
