Bienvenidos a la clase de Español

I graduated from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in 1997 with a Bachelor in Criminal Justice. Since then, I have earned a Masters degree in Teaching. I am currently working on my Ed.S. degree in Administration.

I was born and raised in New York City but moved to Kingsport, TN in 2000. My parents are from Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico; therefore, I am a native speaker of the Spanish language. Although I grew up speaking the language, I did not officially learn Spanish until I was 13 years old.

I have 4 children; Josh, 22; Yaneesa, 21; Amy, 20 Bianca, 18. I also have a brand new granddaughter who is the joy of my life.My hobbies include spending time with my kids, helping other and I hope to travel more often.

My classroom philosophy is one of mutual respect, cooperation, achievement, and high expectations. It is my goal to make the curriculum and learning fun, as well as interesting, challenging, and varied. Students will be held accountable for their own behaviors and accomplishments, both positive and negative.

I can easily be reached by email at vasqueza@etsu.edu or by calling the office at (423) 439-4172. It is my hope that your child has a positive learning experience in my classroom.
