Congratulations to Ms. Kim Allison, recipient of the University School Teacher of the Year, 2012-2013 Faculty Award!
During the CCOE (Clemmer College of Education) Awards Ceremony, held on Tuesday, April 16th, 2013, at the Carnegie Hotel, Ms. Allison was recognized and presented with the University School Teacher of the Year Award.
Ms. Allison has been employed at University School as Special Education Instructor , K-12 Resource, since 2008. Prior to her employment with University School, she served as "Make A Difference" Project Coordinator for East Tennessee State University, Special Education Teacher in Rogersville City School, Manager of the first childcare center in facility for ETSU Center for Physical Activity, and also served in multiple roles providing care for adults with disabilities. In addition to Academic Support PLC membership, she served as Co-coordinator for University School Beautification Day and also "Pickin' in the School-yard" in conjunction with ETSU Bluegrass Department. She has also assisted in coaching our University School Girls on the Run .
Students at University School love Ms. Allison. She is not only an encourager and mentor, but, is a true friend. Upon hearing the news of the award one parent remarked, "Kim Allison is the true definition of a kind, considerate, and caring teacher and great role model for our children. She has gone above and beyond the requirements of her job to make the learning environment a positive, progressive, and effective one. Congratulations to Kim for such a well-deserved award!"
Ms. Allison is a superb example of the excellent instruction and leadership provided at University School. We are so very proud to claim her as a Buc!
