  Dear seniors,

  Your high school years are quickly approaching an end.  You will be the last class that I will graduate from University School.  I would like to take this time to thank you for giving me this opportunity to watch you grow into respectful young women and men.

  Your class has been the class that all teachers talk about making a positive difference in the world.  We expect great leaders to emerge.  Please take time to reflect on friendships and positive experience as you grow away from us and grow into your new lives.  Please don’t forget us.  We certainly won’t forget you.

• Seniors, Juniors, & guests:  You are invited to Project Graduation from 11:00 p.m. - 6:00 a.m., after graduation, at the CPA.  The cost is $5 for Juniors and all guests.  Seniors are free!!  Project Graduation is an all night lock-in with lots of activities, food, door prizes, and fellowship.  Please sign up during lunch beginning on Friday, May 23rd through Thursday, May 29th.  (Seniors can only be in the building to pay for a guest if needed)
   
• Attention students:  On Friday, May 23rd, the Journalism students will be hosting the "Hello Summer, Goodbye Seniors" dance.  All students from grades 8 through 12 are invited.  This is your last chance to say, "Goodbye", to the seniors before they graduate!  It will be held on Friday, May 23rd, from 7 - 10, in the gym.  Tickets are $5 at the door.  See you there!
   
• Seniors - Please R.S.V.P. by Monday, May 26th, for the Senior Picnic which is Thursday, May 29th, after graduation rehearsal.  Kara Pollock is the parent volunteer for the Picnic.  Please call her if you can help. (282-1049)
   
• Senior finals will be held on Tuesday through Thursday, May 20-22.  Students, please make a special effort to be in class this week
   
• Everyone is invited to join the Senior class for the Baccalaureate Ceremony on Thursday, May 29th, at 7:00 p.m., at Munsey United Methodist Church.  A reception for the students will follow the ceremony at the church fellowship hall.  Seniors will need to arrive at the church at 6:00 p.m. and wear their cap and gowns.  Parents who are sending food for the reception need to bring it to the Fellowship Hall by 6:30 p.m.
   

• The class of 2008 has raised enough money to have a class retreat.  The retreat will be held at Roan Mountain State Park on May 27-28 (Tues./Wed.). All parents are welcome; however, will need a minimum of nine parent chaperones.  The first nine to sign up will be the official chaperones and will be assigned a cabin to oversee.  Others will need to get their own cabin if they are staying the night, but you do not have to stay the night to visit the retreat.  Senior Class Officers and Ms. Bevin are in charge of the retreat.
  
   

• Baccalaureate has been scheduled for Thursday, May 29 at Munsey United Methodist Church.  The program will be at 7 pm but Seniors will have to be there at 6 pm.  We will need parents to provide the food for the reception.  Laura Green and Ruth Loving are the parent volunteers for Baccalaureate. • Finally, remember, Graduation  is Friday, May 30, at 8 pm.  Jostens has already delivered the supplies to school.  If you failed to order what you needed for graduation (cap and gown), there are forms available in the office.
