2006 Cross Country Highlights

Middle School Boys

• The middle school boys team finished 3^rd at the State CC Meet in Knoxville

• Strong force led by 8^th graders: Kimu Elolia, Trevor Augsburger, and Brian Smith

Middle School Girls

• The middle school girls team finished 2^nd at the State CC Meet in Knoxville

• Two 8^th graders ran the entire season with the High School team (Kirby Brosmore and Michelle Green)

• Strong force led by 7^th graders: Emily Rice, Landry Loving, and Mikki Burke

High School Boys

• 2006 Watauga Conference Champs, A-AA Region Champs

• A-AA Runner-up State (2nd at State), an improvement of seven places from 2005

• All Region A-AA Boys Team (Top 15 at Region): David Smith, Evan Collins, Alden Collins, Carter McVeigh, Chris Lee, Andrew Burke, Luke Patton

• All State A-AA Boys Team (Top 15): David Smith (5th)

High School Girls

• All State A-AA Girls Team (Top 15): Leah Nelson (2nd), Kirby Brosmore (3rd), Olivia Burke (12th)

• The following girls ran on the state team: Leah Nelson, Kirby Brosmore, Olivia Burke, Jackie Nelson, Stephanie Davenport, Chelsea Wild, and Michelle Green.  Additional members of the high school girls team is Rachel Kidd, Rachel Taylor, Amanda Burchett, Chelsea Kinser, Sarah Suiter, and Leah Merrick
