Ms. Kimberly Roberts, University School
Middle School Instructor, passed away on Tuesday, August 14th,
2007. Ms. Roberts taught Social Studies, Math, Science,
and History Enrichment.
Ms. Roberts graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Education from
Clinch Valley College of the University of Virginia. She also
received a Master of Arts Degree in Curriculum and Instruction
(Instructional Technology) from
Virginia Tech in 2001. Her teaching career began at Damascus
Middle School where she taught Civics from 1991-1997, then World
Geography at Damascus Middle School from 1997-2002. Ms.
Roberts began teaching at University School in 2003. During the
2006-2007 school year, she
was
appointed to the Chair of the National Council for the Social
Studies Programs of Excellence. Ms. Roberts also served on
the Board of Directors for the Tennessee Council for Social
Studies.

Ms. Roberts was well-loved!! She touched our lives
in a special way. A "favorite teacher" of many,
many students will be missed! |

Advice for Supporting Grieving Students
The family has asked that contributions be made to a local animal
shelter or humane society. There is also a collection box in the
University School office for monetary donations for the family.
