Planning Committee Information
All CME Activity directors and planning
committee members are required to disclose financial relationships
with commercial interests to ensure that the content of this CME
activity is to promote improvements/quality in healthcare for the
health and well-being of the public and not a specific proprietary
business interest of a commercial interest. The program
content will be free of control by individuals with real or
apparent conflicts of interest. A conflict of interest arises
when individuals have both a financial relationship with a
commercial interest and the opportunity to affect the content of
CME programs with regard to the products or services of that
commercial interest. The following decisions must be made
free of the control of a commercial interest.
-
Identification of CME program needs;
-
Determination of educational objectives;
-
Selection and presentation of content;
-
Selection of all persons and organizations
that will be in a position to control the content of the CME
program;
-
Evaluation of the activity.
Any individual who refuses to disclose relevant
financial relationships will be disqualified from being an Activity
Director, planning committee member, a teacher, or an author of
CME, and cannot have control of, or responsibility for, the
development, management, presentation or evaluation of this CME
activity.
