Interprofessional leadership development is vital for the future of healthcare. Recognizing this reality, we have partnered to create a new learning institute designed to teach interprofessional healthcare teams strategies that serve their communities, inspire their colleagues, and create effective leaders.

Target Audience:

SYNC is open to health care teams with up to five clinical members from diverse disciplines, which must include a physician and a registered nurse.

Overall Conference Objectives:

As a result of attending this activity, the participant will be able to:

  • Understand the changing landscape of healthcare and the strategic implications for organizations.
  • Understand the potential of interprofessional collaboration for organizational success.
  • Effectively engage in collaborative teamwork and leadership.
  • Apply collaborative teamwork and leadership principles through a Capstone Project addressing an organizational challenge.

Up to 9.50 continuing nursing education contact hours will be offered for the September 15-16 session of this conference.   Up to 8.50 continuing nursing education contact hours will be offered for the October 7, 2016 session of this conference.  East Tennessee State University College of Nursing is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Tennessee Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.

The ETSU College of Nursing implements a $15 certificate fee per conference. This fee covers the following: cost for being a provider of nursing contact hours, supplies, and nursing education coordinators time for completing necessary paperwork for each conference, reports, study for renewal of being a provider, and attending meetings.
