Primary Care and the Oncology Patient:
From Prevention to End-of-Life Care
September 20th, 2013
Sponsored by
Virginia Commonwealth University Massey Cancer Center
and Johnston Memorial Hospital

About this Conference Beginning in the fall of 2010 and funded by a grant from the Tobacco Indemnification and Community Revitalization Commission, VCU Massey Cancer Center began compiling information for a comprehensive cancer needs assessment in four tobacco health districts in Virginia, including the Mt. Rogers Health District in the far Southwest part of the state. This assessment included cancer burden, cancer care services, community resources, community and population-based information and physician information. Though many needs were brought to the forefront in this assessment, perhaps some of the most telling information and needs came from physicians who were both interviewed and surveyed. From this information came the topics and objectives for "Primary Care and the Oncology Patient: From Prevention to End-of-Life Care."
