Women and Heart Disease Conference
Remote Online Broadcast for Groups and Hospitals
June 11, 2011
This is a web page for those of you wanting to do a group broadcast of the Women and Heart Disease June 11, a Saturday.
BEFORE THE CONFERENCE
Testing the Broadcast: In your intended conference room, go to this link (http://elearning.etsu.edu/womenconflive.htm) to see if you will have firewall problems related to accessing the broadcast. If you cannot access this link, speak with your IT team about giving you access. Once you have access, play the short video on the link. Use it to test your Internet speed (if it is too slow the video will break up). Check on how to deploy the sound throughout the room. It will be very hard to watch a long conference if the sound is not deployed through an overhead sound system or speakers strategically set in the room. Once you have the video on the screen, click the icon on the far right in the tool bar of the video frame so that the picture will fill the whole screen. If everything is working well, and you have the sound deployed, you have done everything necessary to assure you have access to the conference on that day.
(If your IT department had to give you special access, make sure you will have the same access on the day of the conference.)
Registrations: Click Here to download an Excel document that you can use to register those that will be attending from your organization. No one will need to go online in advance to register; instead, you will enter their information here and forward it to our registrar via email shortly before the conference. Our registrar’s email address is Dougherty@etsu.edu. Keep a copy for yourself.
Schedule: Remember, the Nashville Conference is scheduled for Central Daylight Time. If you are in the Central Time Zone, download the CDT Agenda and send it out to your team. If you are in the Eastern Time Zone, download this EDT Agenda instead and forward it to your attendees.
THE DAY OF THE CONFERENCE
Accessing the remote broadcast: Sometime in the last ½ hour before the conference begins, the video at the same link you tested earlier (http://elearning.etsu.edu/womenconflive.htm) will be replaced with the live broadcast. If you have tested the broadcast, had access to the Internet, and checked your sound system, you should have no problems accessing the live broadcast. If you encounter any problems, call us at 727 525 0075.
Securing Credit: At the end of the broadcast, click here to go to the instructions to complete your evaluation and request credit. (This link will not be active until the day of the conference). If you have any difficulties, contact us during regular business hours at 423-439-8027.
