Department of Family Medicine Receives National Recognition from US News and World Report

The Department of Family Medicine at East Tennessee State University has been ranked seventeenth in the nation for excellence in family medicine training, according to the 2010 Best Graduate Schools issue of US News and World Report. ETSU’s impressive ranking was determined by ratings assigned by deans and senior faculty at peer institutions   This is the second consecutive year that the ETSU Department of Family Medicine has been ranked in the top 20 for excellence in family medicine training by US News & World Report.

The mission of the ETSU Department of Family Medicine is to provide community-focused medical education and evidence-based, patient centered care; to improve health in rural southern Appalachia, especially among the underserved population; to model compassionate and efficient care using effective communication skills; and to advance scholarly investigation. We lead through excellence, collaboration and innovation.
