Welcome to ETSU Family Medicine Associates of Johnson City. We are pleased to have you as our patient. If you have questions, suggestions, or concerns about our services, please let us know so we may better serve you.

Our Services

We manage and coordinate care for people with all types of acute and chronic illnesses.  We provide Medical Care for all ages:

Specialists and specialized testing are available through cooperative efforts with Johnson City Medical Center Hospital and physicians including ETSU Physicians and Associates.

Due to our training and the scope of our practice, we are pleased to be able to provide care without potential limitations imposed by gender, age or part of the body involved and to coordinate with any other physicians or services that you may need. Moreover, if you need to go into the hospital, we will take care of you there, too! And someone from our practice is always available after hours, on weekends and holidays if you need us.

Our office is open Tuesday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm, Mondays until 6:30 pm, except holidays.

Office hours are by appointment. To schedule an appointment, please call our office switchboard at (423) 439-6464

between the hours of 8:00 am through 4:30 pm,Tuesday - Friday, Mondays until 6:30 pm, except holidays. We are closed from 12:30-1:30 for lunch.

Current day appointments are available. Appointments are encouraged but if you become suddenly ill, please know that you can be seen by the first available physician. If you are experience a medical or psychiatric emergency, please 911, or go to your closest emergency room

If you are unable to keep an appointment for any reason, please call us to cancel as soon as possible so that other patients who need to be seen can be scheduled at that time.  Repeatedly failing to notify can threaten your relationship in our practice.

Sometimes, despite our best efforts, medical emergencies may make it necessary to delay or reschedule your office visit. If rescheduling is unavoidable, a new appointment will be offered at the earliest convenience. 

ETSU Family Medicine Associates is not accepting new patients whose primary problem is management of pain.

Telephoning our Office

Our telephone number is (423) 439-6464. We do have an automated answering system to assist you in being connected with the correct person when you call our office. Our staff is trained to respond to your questions. Sometimes, in order to answer your questions, your message may be relayed to your doctor and your call will be returned as soon as possible. If you have an emergency, please let our staff know so that we may handle it accordingly.

Emergencies and After-Hour Service

We provide 24-hour medical care, 7 days a week for our patients. If an emergency arises Monday through Friday during our office hours, please call ( 423) 439-6464 and we will advise you of the best course of action. We may be able to take care of your emergency in our office. On weekends, evenings, and holidays, you may still call (423 )439-6464 and our answering services will relay your message to one of our physicians who will return your call as soon as possible. Please remember to telephone our offices before going to the emergency room. If you believe you have a serious or life-threatening emergency, you may wish to proceed directly to the nearest emergency room, and ask them to contact your doctor. 


Our automated answering system has an option for those seeking to refill a prescription. In order for us to process your request you must leave all the requested information. Prescription refills will be telephoned to your pharmacy within 72 hours of receiving the request. Some medications (such as pain medication, tranquilizers, etc.) will not be refilled by telephone. Our doctors do not write prescriptions for narcotic pain pills & tranquilizers (such as Lortab, Oxycontin, Xanax, or Soma) for new patients.  It will save you time if you request that your doctor provide your prescription refills during your office visit.

Smoke-Free Facility

ETSU Family Medicine Associates is a smoke-free facility. ETSU is now a smoke-free campus.  If you would like help in "kicking the habit," please talk with your doctor.
