Institutional Core Competency Plan for ETSU James H. Quillen College of Medicine

The ETSU James H. Quillen College of Medicine is committed to the American Osteopathic Association’s (AOA) Core Competencies for graduate medical education. The Dean of the college of Medicine has assigned responsibility of formulating and executing a plan to incorporate the AOA’s core competencies into the curriculum to Joann D'Aprile-Lubrano, D.O., Osteopathic DME.

The attached plan was developed and then approved by the Graduate Medical Education Committee at the Dec. 7, 2006 meeting. The OGME committee will be responsible for execution and evaluation of this plan.

Joann D'Aprile-Lubrano, D.O., as ODME shall work in collaboration with ETSU James H. Quillen College of Medicine staff to educate and motivate faculty to implement this plan.

Forrest Lang, M.D., the Administrative DME shall co ordinate the support staff to disburse and collect information from interns, residents and faculty.

ETSU James H. Quillen College of Medicine will provide any and all resources necessary to successfully implement this plan, including financial and personnel.

Joann D'Aprile-Lubrano, D.O., as ODME shall coordinate with A-OPTIC to share information on AOA Core Competencies and seek assistance when need.

The GME committee shall review quarterly reports from the Osteopathic DME describing progress of the implementation of the plan. The OGME committee shall evaluate the effectiveness of the implementation and provide a summary to A-OPTIC quarterly.
