Paul Phillips, DO, Clinical Assistant Professor/Bristol Center

Paul Phillips 

 

 

 

Dr. Phillips was born in Maryland and raised in the coalfields of beautiful Southwest Virginia. He worked as a RN and paramedic before furthering his education by attending medical school at VCOM, Blacksburg, Virginia. Dr. Phillips graduated VCOM's inaugral class and completed his residency at East Tennessee State University Family Physicians of Bristol, where he served as a chief resident, then chief -of-chiefs for the College of Medicine. After residency, Dr. Phillips accepted a full-time position at a rural clinic in St. Paul, Virginia. He continues to serve as a part-time faculty member with East Tennessee State University Family Physicians of Bristol. In addition to his regular positions, he moonlights in local emergency departments and continues to be active with EMS, where he serves as an operational medical director. Dr. Phillips general interests are in addition to working all the time, travelling, camping, outdoor activities, farming and spending time with family and friends.  Dr. Phillips can be contacted at Phillipp@etsu.edu.
