I was inspired to pursue a career in medicine by the physician who served the small, one-doctor town of Englewood, Tennessee, where I grew up. He worked seven days a week, often late into the night; yet he always met each patient with a smile. He delivered the babies, cared for the children, the adults, and the elderly, made house calls and often tended his patients’ bedsides as they passed. He was truly a family physician and a role model I aspired to one day emulate. After high school, I ventured away from my small hometown to live in Johnson City where I attended ETSU receiving my undergraduate degree in biology. |
| I fell in love with the area, especially its picturesque landscapes and endless outdoor activities, and was fortunate to be able to stay in Johnson City for medical school as well. During my fourth year, I rotated at Bristol Family Medicine and immediately realized that I had found a new home. All of the people there welcomed me with such kindness, and I learned volumes of information from the knowledgeable attendings, residents, and staff. I am extremely excited to be joining them! I have an amazing daughter, Caroline, who will be starting kindergarten as I begin my residency. I also have two very spoiled cats, Jimmy and Butters. In my spare time, I enjoy playing and watching sports, relaxing at the river or lake, hiking, cooking, and shopping. |
