As a son of missionary parents my formative years were spent in Central Africa and Michigan until I was in high school. My interests were always diverse and it was only after an enjoyable career in finish carpentry that I decided to go back to school to become a physician with an eye towards mission work myself. I attended VCOM in Blacksburg, VA, which is what brought me to Appalachia, and now I don't want to leave. My family and I love this area around Bristol, and I feel blessed to be a part of the Bristol residency program. It has been a great learning environment with seniors and attendings who are wonderfully helpful and pleasant to work with. Outside of work, my wife, daughters, and I enjoy being active in our local church, going hiking, playing at Steel Creek Park, and generally enjoying the beauty around us.
