"Family Medicine
Associates" is the clinical practice of the Johnson City Family
Medicine Residency program with over 14,000 patient visits last
year. The patient population is broad-based and includes
diverse socioeconomic groups. |
| The 12,000 square foot facility opened in 1988 and has
minor surgery, colposcopy, stress testing, endoscopy, X-ray,
and lab facilities, in addition to 18 patient exam rooms.
Faculty and residents confer on diagnosis and treatment during
the patient encounter in a uniquely designed atrium in the
clinic's center. The clinic is equipped with computerized
scheduling and accounting systems, videotaping and one-way
mirror precepting capabilities, a library/conference room,
residents' lounge, and kitchen facilities. This community
based facility is located adjacent to the ETSU campus. |

Faculty/Staff
The clinic is supported in its growing practice by 9
board-certifies Family Physicians, a Licensed Psychologist
with a Health Service Provider and special certification
through the American Psychological Association in Substance
Use Disorders, a Pharmacist, a social worker, a lab
technician, a radiology technician, a seven member business
management team, and a full complement of nursing and office
staff including an office manager. The computerized office
accepts reimbursement through private pay, as well as
Medicare, Medicaid, and other third party insurers.
