I belong to a country where the majority of citizens reside in rural areas. As a child, I dreamt that I could make a difference in the lives of these underserved people. This led me to the path of medicine. After completing medical school in India, I worked in various government hospitals where I practiced in all specialties before taking up the job of Medical Officer in an underserved area. Soon I got this wonderful opportunity of attending IMG Institute at ETSU and doing observership in Johnson City where I learned many new skills to be a better family physician. Moreover, I felt so comfortable working with everyone in the program. Now, being a family medicine resident in Johnson City is a dream come true for me. I enjoy cooking, watching movies, hiking and playing golf. The Tri-Cities region has several places where I can enjoy my outdoor hobbies, which will definitely make my training even more exciting.
