Kalyan Mogili, M.D.

Kalyan Mogili After completing medical school in India, I came to ETSU to pursue a Masters degree in Public Health.  I am very fortunate for having been a part of Public Health at ETSU because working and studying here gave me an opportunity to know more of American culture, beliefs and social life.  I believe knowledge of these concepts is indispensable for a Family Medicine physician.  Coming to my personal life, I am the eldest of the three sons. My father is a lawyer and my mother is a housewife.  I am married to Swetha, my childhood friend and love. My family is a major source of strength for me, and who I am today is due to my family’s love and support. I like to travel, watch movies and hang around with friends.
Northeast TN with its magnificent beauty is a wonderful area for Swetha and I to go sight seeing!  I want to become a complete doctor, who not only cares to cure the disease but also helps in increasing the overall quality of my patient’s life. When I look at myself pursuing Family Medicine residency at East Tennessee State University, Johnson City, it’s like a dream coming true.  This has given rise to a new hope and goal. After completion of my residency I intend to work in rural NE TN because of the strong bond that I have created over the years with these people and the area.
