All of my life I have lived within the Midwest. I grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan, completed my undergraduate studies at Purdue University, and then attended medical school at Des Moines University in Iowa. In medical school, I met my husband, who is from Louisiana. Coming from opposite ends of the country, together we wanted to find a location that felt like home and provided us both the opportunity to receive excellent training. The Tri-Cities area fit the bill perfectly. I knew from my first visit to ETSU-Kingsport, that I was meant to train here. Not only is it an amazing environment, but the faculty and residents push each other to be the best physicians they can be.
I love family medicine because of the connections and relationships developed with patients and their families. I hope to one day live and work in a small community where I can be a role model for my patients and community.
