Abstract Requirements
The abstract should be limited to 300 words including the title; the authors should not be repeated IN THE ABSTRACT ITSELF - this information should be limited to the author / co-author sections.
Please note that there have been two additions to the application form from previous years: There is now a check-block section to indicate the academic status of the principle author. An additional section, Clinical / Community Implications, has been added to the abstract.
Information about the author(s) should be confined to the space that is provided for that purpose.
The application should indicate which format (paper or poster) under which the applicant wishes to present.
Abstracts should:
a. Include a title without the author(s) listed or otherwise identified in the text b. Be typed single spaced in a single paragraph c. Allow two spaces between title and text d. Include the following subheadings:
i. Background (importance of research topic) ii. Objectives iii. Methods (setting, participants) iv. Results v. Conclusions vi. Clinical / Community Implications
e. DO NOT include graphics, charts, tables, references, acknowledgements, or credits f. Be checked for spelling and typographical errors
Note: It is the intent of the organizers to accept as many proposals as can be accommodated by the conference schedule. Selection criteria for evaluating abstracts include: originality, clarity, quality, relevance and organization.
