Alexei Gonzalez, MD is Assistant Professor of Medicine at East Tennessee State University's Quillen College of Medicine. After earning his medical degree from his native Mexico, Dr. Gonzalez completed his residency in Internal Medicine and his fellowship in Allergy and Clinical Immunology at the world renowned Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Gonzalez is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
His research interests include drug allergy, anaphylaxis, perioperative anaphylaxis, and chronic urticaria. In 2014, Dr. Gonzalez received the prestigious Clemens Von Pirquet award for best research from the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology.
Dr. Gonzalez has published over 30 articles and book chapters in peer-reviewed journal, including Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology In Practice, Allergy and Asthma Proceedings, Cleveland Clinic Journal of Medicine, Mayo Clinic Proceedings, Transplantation, European Journal of Internal Medicine and Journal of Immunology. He has served as editor for the International Journal of Clinical and Medical Allergy and the International Journal of Allergy Medications.
Dr. Gonzalez is a member of the American College of Physicians, American Medical Association, Clinical Immunology Society, American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology, World Allergy Organization, and the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology.
