    DXA Technologist
Denelle Hensley   Denelle Hensley is the Head DXA Technician at the ETSU Osteoporosis Center, a position she has held since April 2002. She completed the International Society for Clinical Densitometry (ISCD) Bone Densitometry Course and passed the certification test to become a Certified Densitometry Technician in 2003. In 2005, she successfully completed the Tennessee State American Registry of Radiologic Technologists test for bone density. In 2008, she upgraded her certification with ISCD to Certified Bone Densitometry Technologist. Ms. Hensley has performed thousands of bone density scans and is a qualified and experienced operator of the Hologic QDR 4500C DXA Machine, Delphi DXA Machine, Hologic Discovery DXA Machine, and GE Lunar Prodigy DXA Scanner (version 9.15).
  
In her role as Head DXA Technician, Ms. Hensley drives and operates the Mobile Unit DXA Bus and performs DXA scans at health fair screenings in the community. In 2010, she performed bone screenings with the Mobile Unit at the Remote Area Medical Clinic held at the Bristol Motor Speedway. In addition to performing bone density scans, she is responsible for performing quality checks on the DXA machines, proofreading outgoing patient reports for quality assurance, exchanging monthly radiation badges, maintaining correspondence with local and state radiation safety officers, calculating patient fracture risks, performing scans for clinical trials when necessary, educating patients and the public about osteoporosis, and assuring that upgrades of the Center’s DXA software remain current. She has assisted in development of educational programs for area schools, instructed College of Medicine residents, assisted in the promotion and marketing of the bone density program, and served as Study Coordinator for various clinical trials and in-house research protocols. Ms. Hensley works closely with the front office staff to schedule patient scans and office visits, and supervises other DXA technicians when necessary.

 

 

 

Patient Coordinator

Caitlin Bailey  

Caitlin Bailey is a recent graduate of East Tennessee State University, where she received her Bachelor's degree in Human Services and graduated with academic honors. Caitlin joined the Osteoporosis center in January 2013 where she works as the Patient Coordinator.

In her spare time, Caitlin enjoys reading, snowboarding, and enjoying time with her friends and family. She also serves on her sororities advisory board for chapter operations, where she served as a previous chapter president in 2010-2011. Helping others to better their lives is her passion and she plans to continue on and get her Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology.

 

 

   

 

Patient Coordinator

Aminda Miles  

Aminda Miles joined the Osteoporosis Center team in January of 2013. She holds a Bachelor's degree from East Tennessee State University and has plans to continue her education in the near future. With one previous year of healthcare experience, she is excited to learn and to do all that she can to assist people in her capacity as Patient Coordinator.

Aminda enjoys reading and writing science fiction and fantasy, Biblical studies, being outdoors, marksmanship, and Iaido.
