Mission Statement

The mission for the Department of Physiology is to develop and expand our interactive teaching programs, expand our base of extramural support for both new and renewal grants, and expand our faculty involvement in national / international scientific organizations.

Objectives

To accomplish this mission our objectives are to:

  • Explore and utilize computer-assisted learning.
  • Evaulate alternative examination formats, e.g. oral and / or with written exams.
  • Continue to prepare our students for passing the USMLE Step 1 exam.
  • Increase our research productivity in publishing and presenting.
  • Increase departmental extramural support for research.
  • Continue to encourage our Faculty for service in Society committees and National Study Sections.
