Why Quillen
I wanted a small school that makes education its
top priority. I also wanted a school that provides its
students many different opportunities and a school that I
can be proud of.
Life Outside the Classroom
I spend time listening to and playing music,
hiking, sleeping, watching movies, and relaxing with my
fiance and friends.
Prior Life
After graduation it was important for me to see
and experience different things. I worked as an outdoor
education teacher for awhile in Connecticut. I then worked
in home health at Blount Memorial Hospital in Maryville,
Tennessee. Afterward, I coached baseball in Germany,
and on the collegiate level as an assistant coach. My
discovery of medicine took some time and patience, but the
time spent out of the classroom was a great opportunity for
personal growth.
Living in Northeast Tennessee
Each day I am learning more and more about what
the area has to offer. Whether it's music festivals,
great trails, or friendly people. I have been very happy
with Johnson City and the surrounding communities. .
Words of Wisdom
I would recommend to future medical students to
choose a school that has the same priorities you do. It's
important to do your own research, and it's also important
to know what you're looking for in a school. I am very
happy with my decision, and I am proud to be a part of this
community.
