Why Quillen
I fell in love with the campus during my interview
and was truly impressed by the enthusiasm expressed by the
faculty and staff. Quillen is also close to home for me,
and I thrive in a small class environment and enjoy the
personal attention. I know that Quillen will equip me with
the necessary tools to be an excellent physician,
particularly as its reputation continues to grow.
Being a Quillen Student
Being a part of the Quillen family has been a
blessing to me. I know that my classmates and professors
are looking out for me, and I feel comfortable and safe
here. I've already been given many opportunities to learn
and grow through student leadership at Quillen. The
administrators and professors listen carefully to the
student voice, and we work together to make positive
changes for the school and the students.
Juggling School and Family
It's definitely a challenge. I commute to school from
Kingsport every day, so I really have to budget my time
wisely. But I'm a strong believer in balancing work and
play, so when I take time off from schoolwork, I enjoy
spending it with my close friends and family.
Prior Life
After graduating from Davidson, I worked in a microbiology
lab for a year. It allowed me to enjoy the first year of my
marriage and to save some money for tuition.
Words of Wisdom
Study hard! I've been so impressed by the drive and
diligence of my classmates. Try to ask tough questions and
get as much clinical experience as you can. Stay on top of
your work and you will succeed.
