The summer internship program was developed
(in 2007) to provide a exposure to medical education for those
interested in pursuing a career in medicine. In 2008 we
expanded the program due to overwhelming interest from students
from around the region. Students are exposed to many
aspects of medical education including the Gross Anatomy lab,
Patient Simulation involving residents from many specialties at
ETSU, repair and maintenance of the Human Patient Simulators as
well as research and design of new simulation technology to name
just a few. The internship is open to anyone who desires to
investigate what is available in medical education.
The one prerequisite would be that the student is a Sophomore or
higher in college and has a Healthcare or Bio Medical
concentration. At this time we are only accepting four or
five interns per summer. Semester internships are available
to people who are taking a break from their studies during the
normal school year. To obtain more information contact Jake
